5th July at Suds & Soda, Friary Works, 119 Friar Gate, Derby DE1 1EX 7pm
The Cuckoo collaborative is an annual collaboration between breweries in the midlands and the University of Nottingham’s Brewing students.
Last year they teamed up with Black Iris, creating Laima’s Luck a 5.2% Lime & Coriander Hefeweizen. This year they have teamed up with Neon Raptor to bring you ‘Fly The Nest’, a juicy session pale built for summer.
Adam (Neon Raptor’s head brewer) and the two students Nik and Sebastian, will be on hand on the evening to chat all things beer. Here’s what Sebastian had to say about the beer.
‘Fly The Nest is Nik and I paying homage to everything we love about beer: unfiltered, delicious refreshment. We’ve kept the abv low as we believe beer is for quaffing in the hot sun. Our tribute includes our three absolute favourite hops: Mosaic, simcoe and of course, darling Citra. Our aim here is to brew a real modern classic that showcases Neon Raptor’s deep understanding of the principles of modern pale’.
This year the collaboration includes a charity element. 50% of profits on launch night are going to be donated to the Padley so come on down and raise a glass to good beer and helping out in the community!
