Elliot’s parents rang up in December 2017 asking if we could provide a placement for him in our kitchen at the development centre.
Elliot is doing his NVQ level 1 Catering & Hospitality at derby roundhouse college and before he came to Padley to do his 100 hour placement was struggling to stay on his course.
Through his hard work, determination and mentoring from our catering manager Chris, he has come on leaps and bounds, so much so that on the 14th June Elliot won a Highly prestigious award sponsored by Morley Hayes – most improved student at the peak awards ceremony
He was a little shy and low in confidence at first but let’s say that soon changed.
He has worked hard at making tray bakes brownies and flapjacks to sell over the counter at the development centre and has built up a knowledge of useful basic recipes he’s able to adapt to suit a wide range of dishes which will prove invaluable to him in years to come.
After completing his 100 hour placement Elliot continues to volunteer in our development centre kitchen and also has help out at many of our fundraising events.
Elliot has become an invaluable member of our team and we think he is fantastic.
WELL DONE ELLIOT!!!
